Director Ewoud Goudswaard to leave ASN Bank

After 15 years, Ewoud Goudswaard, Director, will leave ASN Bank, part of de Volksbank, as from 1 July 2017, giving substance to his choice to take a new step in his career. Under his leadership, the number of ASN Bank customers rose from well over 150,000 to nearly 650,000, and the assets under management rose from € 1.5 billion to € 13.6 billion. His focus on sustainable banking enabled ASN Bank to grow into a driving force of sustainability in the financial sector.

“By taking a consistent and persistent approach, Ewoud has in recent years made an important contribution to the development of ASN Bank’s sustainability policy and embedding it within de Volksbank; the most important milestone being our aim to be carbon neutral by 2030. On behalf of all our colleagues, I would like to thank him very much for his important contribution to ASN Bank's success and wish him all the best in the future”, says Maurice Oostendorp, Chairman of the Board of de Volksbank.

Until more is known about Ewoud’s succession, Joyce van der Est and Arie Koornneef will jointly constitute ASN Bank’s Management Board and take over Ewoud’s duties. They will continue the course set by the bank as a driving force of sustainability within de Volksbank and the financial sector.

Joyce has been a member of the Management Board of ASN Bank since 2015. She was responsible for operations from 2003, between 2013 and 2015 in the position of Deputy Director. Arie was appointed to the Management Board of ASN Bank with effect from 1 April 2017. He previously held the positions of Marketing Strategy & Innovation Director at de Volksbank and Marketing Director at SNS.
